In Loving Memory of

Larry Verdelle Shannon
October 12, 1944 - October 11, 2002

Don't grieve for him, for now he's free
He followed the path God made for him and me.
He took His hand when he heard him call;
He turned his back and left us all.
He could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
Larry went home before the dawn of day.

His untimely parting has left such a void,
Let's fill it up with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
Oh yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
He would wish you all the sunshine of tomorrow.
His life was full, He savored so much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
I know his time on earth was all to brief;
Lord, help us now to handle this grief.

There is comfort in knowing where he is now,
He is up there in Heaven and taking his bows.
He is mounted on the Eagle's Wings,
Laughing and Praising the Lord as he sings.
It has been a long road with obstacles to climb,
He made it to the top but I knew he would, in time.
He is a very special little brother,
He is my friend, my pal, there will never be another.

Larry, I will miss you always.
Your Loving Sister,
Carolyn

Larry's Favorite Verse
Isaiah 40:31

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up on wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
